Policeman Esquivel is great at his job deserves raise!!! He is a great guy who is very good at engaging civilians. Changed someones mind about the way law enforcement can enhance a community. Nicest cop ive ever met!
A citizen of Mexia attempted to reach out to the Mexia PD for help in a domestic violence situation. This citizen was afraid for their well being so they placed the call then placed the phone in a hidden location so the interaction could be heard but the aggressor could not see the actual phone. While the line was still connected the aggressor made numerous threats towards the citizen including a threat to kill the citizen. The police did not respond. The dispatcher hung up and tried to call back but only once. The call back was not answered. Still...no units were dispatched. The aggressor left after physically assaulting the citizen. The attacked citizen then reached out to the police again and was told they could do nothing unless they saw the assault happening or the aggressor was still present upon their arrival. Had units been dispatched at the time the original call was made then police would have been present during the assault and thus able to actually help the citizen. Instead, the PD blames the citizen and leaves them without protection despite there being evidence of continued harassment. Is this how Mexia PD handles life threatening domestic violence? Does someone have to be found dead in their home before Mexia PD realizes they should have done their jobs? Just wondering.
