It was my first time here and I really enjoyed my stay. I got the chicken salad and it was very good. There was more chicken than salad but it was still pretty good. 7.99 gave you a heaping plate.
We stopped as a meeting place with kids. The finicky granddaughter ate all her shrimp and asked for more. I really relished the catfish and it is not my typical go to. The fried squash was good. Everyone at the table was happy and enjoyed lunch!
Satisfying portions and rustic atmosphere. Staff is always busy and therefore, not especially friendly. I liked the choice of two sizes of chicken fried steak - lunch and dinner.
Great food and service. Our server Olivia was a very good Lil waitress and she had pulled a double and was still spot on the refills we never had an empty glass. I love seeing our youth working hard for what is important to them. After a few questions she was working to buy her families Christmas presents. What an amazing young lady. Go by and eat great food and ask for Olivia our wonderful waitress and give her some extra something for being such a wonderful waitress and working for what she wants or needs like so many ppl don't do these days. Congrats to her parents on raising a great young lady.
Nice family restaurant in Mexia. Steak is good, Chicken fried steak is better and catfish is really good. Beer selection is limited. Good value and friendly staff.
